There's only one vampire Sookie Stackhouse is involved with (at least voluntarily) and that's Bill. But recently he's been a little distant - in another state, distant. His sinister and sexy boss has an idea where to look. But when Sookie finally finds Bill - caught in an act of serious betrayal - she's not sure whether to save him . . . or sharpen some stakes.

What Customers Say About Club Dead: A Southern Vampire Novel:

This was much better than Book 2, Living Dead in Dallas, which I also read this year.Book 2 was loosely used as inspiration for Season 2 of the HBO series, and I actually thought the TV season was better. But what vampire love story doesn't.Despite the humor I find in the poor writing and holes in the plot, yes, I am going to continue to read the series. It's easy to see why they are so addicting though. Harris's other series a try. And contain numerous errors in the plots that a good editor should have caught. However, as I said, Book 3 was much better since there was an element of suspense that hasn't been ruined by television yet. I kept telling myself, "I could write this and write it better." Harris's timing at jumping on the Vampire Popularity Train paid off.

In the end, the books aren't very complex. They are extremely repetitive. So, yesterday I finished Book 3 of Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series, Club Dead. And they aren't pretty. Book 3 also spends a lot of time visiting characters that are werewolves. I may even give Mrs. Harris celebrates their flaws and handicaps which actually makes them feel more real on the page, despite there not really being a lot on the page. It's definitely fluffy beach reading, although that sounds so cliché.

Their relationship is even becoming stressed. Maybe I just expected more from the book since I'd already watched the season and knew what it was about, only to be let down when I discovered it was much different.Harris is a very simplistic writer, and I often stopped reading to admire the fact that someone actually published what I was reading. They don't require a lot of thought.Harris's characters aren't very complex either. I also enjoyed seeing Sookie spend much of the story away from Bill. Yes, I already know that they don't stay together, so no need to tell me. I like them though because I can relate to their southern disposition, being from the south myself. But then again, the vampire genre itself has become cliché too, right.

I love this series. At the same time they are trying to find out who might have Bill. I'm new to the series and for someone who is not into this genre. In this book, Bill (Sookie's vamp boyfriend) has become distant and secretive. Having a bit of supernatural "eye candy" tied in as well doesn't hurt. This is book 3 and probably my favorite. Sookie hangs out at Alcide's place and starts to get feelings for him.

As always, I love Sookie's humor, brashness and all over southern politeness. I can't quit reading it. That's when all the fun starts and doesn't end until the last page. There was plenty of action and I just loved Alcide. He disappears and Eric enlists the help of Alcide(who is a werewolf)and Sookie to find Bill. She is really what makes the books as wonderful as they are. If you've read the first two and enjoyed them, I highly recommend this one as well.

Did he leave because of the "project" or was it to meet up with his former girlfriend. It would've been much better if the author wasn't so fuzzy with the plot and characterization. This was an okay read for me. None of this was clear. She never seemed to explain Bill's "defection". Did he leave with the intention of betraying Sookie, or did he just get caught up in the moment, or something else. I missed Sam, but enjoyed "meeting" Alcide and seeing Sookie's deepening relationship with Eric and her budding friendship with Pam. Bill's actions seemed so out of character for him, however, that it left a bad taste - so much so that I can't give this book more than 3 stars.

I can't decide if the author wants Sookie to look trashy/WT because she lives in a small southern town or if the author is just plain clueless.I still love the humor and Vampire Eric but I'm over Vampire Bill at this point. Another great, engaging book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I thought he was a complete ass in this book. My favorite, and by favorite I mean the most horrible, fashion moment for Sookie is when she dresses up to go to the vampire bar and she wears a strapless dress that has sleeves the slip on separately. Ugh. I really liked the intro of the Were society and the character of Alcide - he was a sweetie. On to book number four.

Like i have said before it may or may not be appropriate for young teens ( kids know a lot more these days then they use to that's for sure). These books are so full of action i can barley put them down. I love this series and the twist and turns are never ending. I use to want Bill and Sookie to be together now im not so sure i know how i would feed about bill after the rescue. I am defiantly a fan of this series
